🌿 THE ORACLE AT DELPHI 🌿
Governance and Leadership
“When the mule becomes king of the Medes, flee across the pebbled Hermus and do not be ashamed to be a coward.”
HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Also from Herodotus — given to Croesus regarding the fall of the Median empire. The 'mule' was Cyrus the Great, whose parents were of different nations (Persian and Mede), making him a 'hybrid.'
INTERPRETATION
The impossible condition is already fulfilled, but unrecognized. What seems absurd in the oracle's language is literal in the world. Look for the metaphor that has already become fact.
