Ugaritic / Canaanite
The divine craftsman and sorcerer whose workshop was in Memphis or Caphtor (Crete). He forged the magical maces that helped Ba'al defeat the sea god Yam, and built Ba'al's palace on Mount Saphon with windows of lapis lazuli.
FATE OF THE CULT
Lost when Ugarit was destroyed around 1185 BCE. His myth survived only on clay tablets buried under the rubble of the royal library, discovered by Claude Schaeffer in 1929. No successor cult is known.
