No lights on. But the emergency exit sign in the aisle casts a red glow that reaches the bed, turning the white linens pink.
Arrangement
Full-size bed, too small for the room. A nightstand with a lamp no one has turned on. A suitcase — a prop — sits open on the luggage rack. Inside: tissue paper, perfectly folded.
The suitcase was closed at 6 PM when the store locked up. The security footage confirms this. It is now open. The tissue paper is still perfectly folded.
Ambience
The emergency exit sign buzzing. The red light pulsing at a frequency too slow to consciously notice but fast enough to make you uneasy. The bed looks slept in. It wasn't.
