GHOST SHIP LOG
Caleuche
Seas around Chiloé Island, southern Chile
FINAL LOG ENTRY
No log — this is the eternal party ship of the drowned. Said to appear on foggy nights, brilliantly lit, with the sound of music and laughter aboard.
THE MYSTERY
In Chiloé mythology, the Caleuche carries all who have drowned at sea, who live on in an eternal celebration. The ship can sail both above and below the water. Warlocks (brujos) use it to transport goods. Seeing it brings misfortune — unless invited aboard.
FATE
Still sailing. Local fishermen in the Chiloé archipelago report sightings to this day.
