The Pact with Lucifuge Rofocale
Lucifuge Rofocale, prime minister of Hell, must be summoned at a crossroads between 11 PM and midnight. The operator demands treasure in exchange for twenty years of service after death. Lucifuge resists; the operator threatens with the Blasting Rod until he yields.
Historical Note
The Grand Grimoire is one of the few European grimoires to center explicitly on a demonic pact. Its dramatic negotiation scene reads like a theatrical script, and some scholars believe it derives from stage magic performances rather than actual ritual practice.
