Prescribed remedies for those bewitched with impotence
The argument
Impotence caused by witchcraft may be cured by the witch who cast the spell, by pilgrimage, by exorcism, or by a 'lawful counter-spell.' If the witch cannot be found, the afflicted man should seek out a wise woman who can identify and lift the spell.
But the remedy is in the hands of the witch who bound the spell, or in the hands of another witch who can loose it.

Modern response
Robin Briggs (Witches and Neighbours, 1996) notes the irony: the Malleus condemns cunning folk as witches but recommends consulting them for cures — revealing the deep ambiguity the inquisitors felt about popular magic.
