The Morning Commute
Your hand grips a coffee cup, warm ceramic against skin
The kitchen where you stand, familiar objects in familiar places
Your building from the street, one lit window among many
Your neighborhood from a rooftop, a grid of lives in parallel
Your city from a plane, a circuit board of human ambition
The continent from orbit, rivers like veins in a living body
Earth from the Moon, a blue marble in infinite black
The solar system, Earth now a pale blue dot
The Milky Way, our sun one of 400 billion
The observable universe, 93 billion light-years of becoming
The coffee is still warm. The universe does not care about your commute. This is freedom.
